Perkins Bartholomew letters, 1862-1865.

Bartholomew, of New London, Connecticut, served with the 14th Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers during the Civil War, where he quickly rose from the rank of Private to First Lieutenant. The letters consist of missives written by Bartholomew himself to his mother Caroline Bartholomew, including one with a remnant of the Regimental flag, and later from his comrades and commanding officers when Bartholomew was killed.
